This article considers the pedagogical importance of noticing nature at hyperlocal scale, and role that design can play in nurturing supporting these processes. Biodiversity Logbooks are a set educational resources promote direct engagement with everyday environments through variety creative methods, including cyanotype photography, physical computing, collaborative mapping journaling. These tools intended to be used combination develop skills plants their habitats understanding how different support life forms. argues while complex environmental phenomena often addressed global scale (with local impacts presented as scalable outcomes), focusing on small, overlooked details have beneficial outcomes. consist increased attentiveness care for needs other species, better retention knowledge generated embodied experience stronger connection place.
